Sarah and Julien: Discovering New Flavors

As a couple who loves exploring different cuisines, Sarah and Julien first visited Sukhothai three years ago, and since then, they’ve become frequent diners.

"We had always been curious about Thai food, but it wasn’t until we found Sukhothai that we truly fell in love with the flavors," says Sarah. “We started with the basics—Pad Thai and Green Curry—but what keeps us coming back is the variety. Every time we visit, we try something new, and it never disappoints."

Julien is particularly fond of the Massaman Curry, a dish that combines the richness of coconut milk with tender beef and warm spices like cinnamon and star anise.

"The Massaman Curry is hands down my favorite dish. It’s comforting, hearty, and the balance of sweet, salty, and spicy is just perfect," Julien shares. “I’ve had it at other places, but the way they make it at Sukhothai is exceptional. You can taste the authenticity in every bite."

Sarah and Julien appreciate not just the food but also the atmosphere at Sukhothai. “It feels like a little escape to Thailand right here in Brussels. The staff is so friendly, and the presentation of the dishes is always beautiful,” adds Sarah. “We recommend Sukhothai to all our friends looking for a special dining experience.”

Marco: A Taste of Home

Marco, originally from Thailand, moved to Brussels over a decade ago and often found himself missing the flavors of home. It wasn’t until he discovered Sukhothai that he felt truly connected to the tastes he grew up with.

"The first time I ate here, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia," Marco recalls. “The dishes reminded me of my mother’s cooking back in Thailand. The flavors are authentic, and the ingredients are fresh—exactly like they are at home.”

Marco’s go-to dish is Tom Yum Goong, a hot and sour shrimp soup with lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves.

"Tom Yum Goong is a dish that’s very special to me. It’s packed with flavor—spicy, tangy, and aromatic. Sukhothai makes it just right, and it always takes me back to my childhood," Marco says. “I’ve brought many of my Belgian friends here, and they’ve all become fans. It’s great to see people enjoying Thai food the way it’s meant to be.”

Marco also appreciates how the restaurant adapts dishes to suit different spice preferences without losing the essence of Thai cuisine. “If you’re new to spicy food, the staff is great at guiding you through the menu and suggesting dishes that match your taste,” he adds.

Emma: A Family Tradition

For Emma and her family, Sukhothai has become a staple for special occasions. Whether it’s birthdays, anniversaries, or just a weekend dinner, the restaurant holds a special place in their hearts.

"Sukhothai is our go-to restaurant when we want to celebrate something. The food is always excellent, and the staff makes us feel like family," Emma explains. “My kids love the Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls, and my husband can’t get enough of the Red Curry Duck. It’s become a tradition for us to dine here for every special event.”

One of the dishes Emma enjoys most is the Pad See Ew, a stir-fried noodle dish with soy sauce, egg, and Chinese broccoli.

"I love the Pad See Ew because it’s simple but full of flavor. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the combination of savory soy sauce and crunchy vegetables is just delicious," Emma says. “It’s also a great dish for sharing, which we often do as a family.”

For Emma, the restaurant’s consistency and attention to detail are what stand out. “Every time we come, the food is just as good as the last. That’s rare, and it’s why we keep coming back,” she adds.

Anna: Vegetarian Delight

As a vegetarian, Anna often struggles to find restaurants with a wide variety of options that cater to her diet. But at Sukhothai, she’s found a place where she doesn’t have to compromise on flavor or choice.

"One of the reasons I love Sukhothai is the range of vegetarian options. Many Thai dishes are naturally plant-based or can be made vegetarian, and the chefs here do an amazing job," says Anna.

Her favorite dish? Green Curry with Tofu, a fragrant curry made with coconut milk, fresh vegetables, and soft tofu.

"The Green Curry is incredible. It’s creamy, spicy, and packed with flavor. The tofu is cooked perfectly, and the vegetables are always fresh," she says. “I’ve tried making Thai food at home, but nothing compares to what they serve here."

Anna also appreciates the seasonal specials and the option to customize dishes based on her dietary preferences. “The staff is always accommodating, and they’re happy to adjust the spice level or ingredients to suit my needs. It’s refreshing to find a place that values both quality and customer experience,” she adds.
